Oakhurst Woman Found Hurt; Have You Seen Her Jeep?

An Oakhurst woman was found unconscious on the side of the road near Bass Lake Saturday night. The Jeep she was driving still has not been located.

Now, Madera County Sheriff's Detectives are hoping the public can help them figure out what happened.

Detectives say 42-year-old Shanin Path was found lying on the side of Road 222, north of Road 274, shortly after 8:30 p.m. She was rushed to a hospital with severe injuries to her head.

According to the sheriff's office, Path was last seen driving her blue 2004 Jeep Wrangler in Ahwahnee at around 7 p.m. She was supposed to meet with friends for dinner in Oakhurst, but never showed up.

Detectives say Path's Jeep is similar to the one pictured above. The Jeep's California license plate is 5HOU133.

KMPH News Crew Attacked By Man Accused Of Child Endangerment At Bass Lake

KMPH News Anchor Nicole Garcia and photographer, Matt Romero, were attacked by a man accused of child endangerment while covering a story at Bass Lake Monday.

Now 33-year-old Marc McMurrian is under arrest. He faces child endangerment and misdemeanor battery charges for the attack.

The first time the crew approached the man, they did not know he was involved with the incident, and he denied being involved.

Later, as the crew was shooting video in the parking lot, the man began yelling and using profanity, then approached the camera.

Madera County Sheriff's deputies say it all began early Monday afternoon, when he left his 8 ½ month old boy alone in a van as he carried supplies to a picnic area.

While he was gone, deputies say the baby crawled out a broken window and landed head first on the ground.

A Good Samaritan found him and called 911.

Two Citizen on Patrol Volunteers were recently awarded for their service.   One for her nearly decade long service, and the other, a respected volunteer whose impressive career was tragically cut short.

Citizen on Patrol Volunteers are only required to patrol a minimum of 8 hours a month – 96 hours a year. But on average Madera County Sheriff’s COPs tend to patrol far more.

A shining example Joliene Mason, recipient of this year’s prestigious COP of the Year award. As a volunteer for the Ranchos Fleet, she averages between 300 and 400 each year.

Prom Dates Wearing Duct Tape Dress And Tux

A Madera Ranchos couple heading to the prom Saturday night can expect an evening of stares and possibly a few giggles.  That's because both their outfits are 100–percent duct tape.

Kinsey Carlson is a junior at Liberty High School in Madera Ranchos.  It's pretty likely she and her date will be getting a lot of double takes from friends on Saturday night.  "It has a corset back so I can actually get into it and I don't have to duct tape it to my body, which is kind of nice."

Kinsey and her date are competing in the "Stuck at Prom Contest" sponsored by Duck Brand duct tape.   It's a national contest with a 5–thousand dollar scholarship for each member of the winning couple.
